Techhosting: Techhosting uptime poor

Techhosting are getting worse. Here are my stats from the site I have with them (only testing):
* uptime currently 83% independently monitored
* average page load times 13 seconds independently tested
* average ticket response time 20 days
* "urgent" support request response time 48 hours

I heard that they have been selling hosting to warez, porn and spam mail sites. Who knows?
One things is definite - techhosting sucks!

Uptime Guarantee (%): 99.9% - was offered but real uptime is around 90%. Terms of service repudiate any guarantee or level of service. That means as is - if there's 20% downtime, well tough luck, nobody cares.
Support Offerings: Phone Support o E-Mail - phone support tells you to email them. Email gets you a ticket number and a response within a few days usually. A resolution? A problem solved? What's that? Remember there is no Service Level Agreement/ Offer or guarantee. Makes no difference if they help you or not, they are NOT legally or contractually bound to do anything.

I know there are other companies that offer more bandwidth for the same money, but I have never had any trouble with ipower so 'If it aint broke' why fix it?

Very impressed.

IX Web Hosting: Losing Ground

IX Hosting was initially considered to be quite good, but I think they have had some serious growing pains. Their customer service has become very slow and unresponsive, and their servers appear to be quite overloaded with far too much downtime. Many customers have reported that are leaving this host for greener pastures. Hopefully they will fix their issues because they offer very aggressive hosting plans.

While it is true that hosts that offer these insane amounts of disk space cannot deliver if all of their customers use up to the limits, at least you know you can. They are a fast host and have quick turnaround on their customer service.

I've tried a number of Linux hosting companies before settling for Anhosting/Midphase. They offer quite a bit, more than I'll ever use and for a great price.

The BIG deciding factor was their support. For a $6.95/month account, they made me feel like my issue was the most important issue regardless of how small it was. They all went above and beyond what was expected.

I recommend Anhosting/Midphase to EVERYONE I know that has hosting issues.
