Does Honesty Pay ?

Most Web Hosting Review Sites are a Scam

Go to any search engine and type in 'Web Hosting Reviews', and you will find countless sites similar to this one. Most of them will show you how they have extensively reviewed each web site, and rated them accordingly. Is that #1 host really the best? Is #2 the second best? Generally the answer to that question is NO. We've looked at them all. In fact, we belong to the affiliate programs of most of those same hosts, and guess what! The host that pays the highest affiliate commission is almost always rated #1, the one that pays the second highest gets that #2 spot, and so on. It's a scam.

This Site is Honest

First things first, we're not going to lie to you. Many of the links to hosting companies on this site have our affiliate code in them, and if you sign up, we get paid. But a web host does not need to offer an affiliate program to get listed here, and most certainly does not need to offer us any money to become one of the top rated hosts. In fact, YOU have the power to add hosts on this site, and YOU have the power to review them. If you and other users write glowing reviews of a host that doesn't offer us a commission, you have the absolute power to boost them up to the #1 spot, period. All of our rankings are based ENTIRELY on user reviews, and nothing more. Again, we're not going to lie... if we see that a host is ranking highly here, we will contact them and try to get an affiliate commission. If we get it, great. If we don't, that will not affect their position on this site in any way.

We need YOUR support

When it is all said and done, the reality is that it costs significant amounts of time money to maintain a site like this, and we are in business to profit after all. The thing is that while you are looking for hosting, you cannot avoid clicking on affiliates, so whether you know it or not, someone out there is almost certainly going to get a commission when you sign up for web hosting. The question is whether you want it to be someone that is up front and honest, or someone that is trying to decieve you into making them the most money from a single click of your mouse? Do you want to support a site that ranks hosts honestly, or do you want to support a site that only ranks them based on how big their kickback is?

If you want to support our effort to prove that honestly can win over deceit, and you happen to be in the market for web hosting, please click on a link from this site when you choose your host. Hopefully we will get a commission from that click.

If you are not in the market for web hosting, but still want to support our effort, we would really appreciate it if you link to us from your own website, or talk about us in forums somewhere so that you might help support us indirectly through someone else.

Finally, here is a great video that illustrates the web hosting review scam:
